ABOUT JUST BOOTS AND SHOES
Hobson and Bates Shoes was stablished in March of 1992. Originally occupying premises in Bawtry which became known as The Bawtry Shoe Shop. The Bawtry store is the only store that Hobson and Bates Shoes has occupied throughout its trading history. Other branches have since been established. Of note is Hobson Shoes 12/13 The Buttermarket Newark and Hobson Shoes 24 Middlegate Newark (both still trading strongly).
The Bawtry Store - Bawtry Shoe Company
The original floor area now exsists as the entrance and the Gentlemans shoe department. The premises to the rear of the original shop are now occupied as the ladies and childrens shoe departments (previously a record and newsagents shops). At this time the store was re-named as The Bawtry Shoe Company (2001). All stock storage and staff areas occupy the first floor. Exstensive office space is now also to the rear of the Bawtry store. In all the premises have grown five fold as well as occupying 900 sq/ft of office space. Bawtry provides all head office functions from the office suite.
The Bawtry store is open 7 days per week. Closure only comes on Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day. Customers may also make a purchase or view our exstensive product ranges online. The move to etail was taken four years ago and has proved benefical for both customers and company. The Bawtry Shoe Company is family ran. The directors remain Mark and Gary Bates. Other family members provide Administration and Sales Management. The family based management of the company will not change, nor will the customer first view.
